What do you mean by multiprocessor system ?

A multiprocessor system is a system with more than one processor that are linked together to enable parallel processing. The goal of a multiprocessor is to increase the speed of a system’s execution.

In a multiprocessor system, each processor contains a similar copy of the operating system and they all communicate with each other.

Multiprocessor systems are also known as parallel systems or multicore systems. 

Multiprocessing is the use of two or more central processing units (CPUs) in a single computer system. Multiprocessing systems use shared memory and distribute the computer clock, memory, bus, and peripherals among several concurrent processors. 

Some advantages of multiprocessing include: Increased speed, Increased throughput, and Reliability. 

Some challenges of multiprocessing include: Expensive, Deadlocks, and Extra memory requirements.
